Cabin, Airplane, and Where To Sleep?fritzFeb 12, 2010

I'm staying at a cabin with a group. Out on the deck is a telescope that appears to be pointed downward, but when I look through it I'm surprised to get a close-up view of a large airliner on a runway.

I want to show this to the owner of the cabin, perhaps to ask him about it, but when I bring him out there, I can see nothing through the telescope. It's also dark outside, though I theorize that the problem is that we're looking through the wrong telescope, and last time I was looking through a different one on the deck one floor above.

It's bedtime, and back in the cabin everyone is settling in for the night. When I come in, Jenny (a climbing friend) is already in bed in the central room, and jokingly asks me if I'm going to sleep in the bedroom this time. It seems that the night before, I had fallen asleep on the couch. I answer that I don't know, the couch was more comfortable for my back.
