Flat Tires | | fritz | May 5, 2006 | I am driving a large old American car in heavy traffic on some two-lane hill road. Cars are filling all the space, and only inches away from each other. I am maneuvering with some difficulty.
Suddenly I have a flat tire. I jump out and try to pump it up. As I am doing so, I notice another car in the other lane also has a flat tire, but it seems she has no tire pump. Cars are lining up, the road completely obstructed.
I pump and pump but the tire doesn't inflate. It's not just a slow leak, the tire has a large tear in it, and there is no way I'll be able to pump it up. I'm stuck here a while, but I give them pump to the other driver in hopes that she can at least clear out one of the lanes to let the cars out. | Next: Pros and Cons of Beer Stops |
