Test of Festiva Parking SkillsfritzMay 7, 2006

Natasha and Alona and I have arrived at Leah's house, but it is where my house was in Multnomah, near the post office. Of course, it is a much nicer house than mine was, large and new and white.

We were supposed to meet Leah and Lucas to go to a movie, but it seems that they're having a party at their house. I'm not sure if the party will end so that we can go to the movie, or what. It seems that we didn't have a specific time planned for the movie, so we're coming in to the party.

There is a perfect parking place in front of their house, but it's too good for me. I don't want to tie it up with my little tiny (Festiva sized) car. I can see an even more perfect spot, for my little car, on the street in front of the post office. The curb cuts away there, and there are semi-trucks parked in the cutaways, but there is just enough room at the end for my car to squeeze in. Perfect!

But I have a lot of trouble parking. I just can't get it backed in right. I get out, and try it from there, still no success. The car is so small, I can open the back, and reach in from there to the drivers pedals. I try parking it this way, but the front of the car keeps rising off the ground, to the point of being almost vertical, and my weight in the back exascerbates the problem. It's kind of fun doing this wheelie but it occurs to me that Natasha and Alona, still in the car, must be very frightened.
