I'm rock climbing in a gym, and in a slip I tear off a huge slab of skin on my left palm. It's barely attached, and I'm not sure what to do about it. It doesn't hurt very much, but it stings like pepper if I touch it. If I tear off the detached skin, it'll be pretty hard to climb without irritating it. I'm thinking if I put some ointment on it and bandage it back into position, it might heal correctly and not be too painful.

Some other skin on my fingers is mangled too.
