I'm climbing, free solo on some tall outdoor rock. I'm near the top of one of these two spires, 40 or 50 feet high, and I look down and feel very insecure. The rock is loose, swaying around like wood, like it could splinter and fall at any moment, and I will fall to my death. I need to get some protection in.

(I went to the rock gym earlier this evening, climbed a tall wall, and looked down, noticing how far away the ground was.)
