I'm driving my Subaru, and suddenly the engine dies, but we keep coasting along the freeway. My passenger asks what we do now, and I say we have to get home, which we might be able to do if we can get turned around with the momentum that we have.

I'm thinking through all the ways of using the transmission to get it started again. With a manual shifter it's easy, but I don't think it can be done with an automatic.

It's as though we were just about to get on the Fremont bridge from the area of Vaughn, so if I turn around, I could coast for quite a ways, and in the dream I think I could coast home, but turning around is not going to be easy, since we're on the divided freeway, so I'll have to take an exit and all.

Then there is a dip in the road, and I'm not sure I can even make it over that.
