I'm driving with Henriette on one of the small roads that extends south of Garden Home Road, near where I used to live. We're heading north, and just a block or so from Garden Home I see a large black object on the left, which seems really dark, so very black that it has no definition, like a picture that is all black. As we approach it, we can see that it is a large black bear, standing on its hind legs, reaching up over the fence to graze on some berries or something.

We drive on past, and turn right on Garden Home, but it's different - on the left is an orchard instead of the neighborhood. We talk about what to do about the bear... yes, we joke, we should call in and report it to the authorities, because it might get a tummy ache from eating the children.
