Macroeconomics and Deflating Character BalloonsfritzDec 10, 2010

I am in a small room like a bar, listening to someone give a talk about politics and the economy. When he's finished, and appears to be packing up his stuff, I go up to him and ask, "well what about the economic impact of us delivering music electronically, and therefore not buying plastic CD's any more?"

He answers that it won't have any effect.

I go out and walk along the street, which appears like a side street in downtown Newberg. I walk up to the main street, where there is a sort of plaza and a couple young boys are flying a large balloon that looks like Winnie the Pooh on about 60 feet of string.

Suddenly a melon-sized balloon pops out from the Pooh's belly button and flies across the sky, causing him to deflate and descend to the boys. I think that's unfortunate that their balloon is ruined. It seems like a nice balloon, especially as it has a built-in radio, which is still playing music out of his mouth. But they show me a rubber valve and demonstrate that it is supposed to do that.

I have a character balloon too, shaped something like Sponge Bob's friend Patrick. Mine seems to be deflating as well, but this seems to be normal behavior.
