I'm in a conference room, like at the presentation of a paper. There are four papers in the morning, which I have just sat through, and there are to be four more in the afternoon, but I'm leaving. I need some time to walk around the booths on the show floor, although I suffer some self-doubt as to what to do when I'm there.

People are looking at me as I gather my things, like papers off a desk at school. They notice a paper I have, like the back of an envelope with scribbles on it, and I quip "yeah, I just sketched out the wavefield", a physics joke. That would be an impossible calculation to have sketched freehand on scratch paper, and everybody laughs.
