Only You, A Capella | | fritz | Aug 9, 2011 | It seems I've stopped off, with some people, at the side of the road to see a little garage sale, that is like a mini-museum. They have some old Beatles costumes, coordinated outfits that they used for some album photo session.
Tim Finn is there and I start talking to him. "Some songs, you just can't do with one guitar and a voice, you know? They just aren't complete, you need another guitar and a harmony."
"Sure, you can," I say, "you can do just about anything a capella."
"No, you can't," he says, "name one good rock and roll song that was good a capella." Seems now that I'm talking to a small-statured girl, probably in her early 30's.
"What about 'Only You'? It was sort of a crappy 80's song when Yaz wrote it, but it was good when Crowded House did it as rock and roll, and it was awesome when the Flying Pickets played it a capella!"
