I'm scrambling up a rocky face, black and a little bit muddy. At the top is a street with some shops and things along it, which is apparently where I'm headed.

The hill is not so steep as to require real climbing, but gets steeper as we ascend. I'm placing my hands on good holds. My foot is bad (as in real life), but I don't need it very much. At some point there is basically no foot holds at all, just some black mud, but I have such good handholds that I need almost nothing and scramble right up past it.
