I got these two salamanders, or newts of some sort, accidentally with some other pets that I bought, I think hamsters. What am I going to do with these newts?

I think I need to put them in some water, but I'm not sure. I should try that. I have a water bowl, some squarish plastic thing with two compartments, but it's dirty. I need to clean it.

I'm at my parents'. I go into the kitchen to clean out the bowl, and when I come back, mom has made the newts a home in a bathtub. It's kind of a mini bathtub, like normal width but half length, and it's placed up on a table in the corner against the kitchen, where the tv now sits. It seems like a good habitat for newts.
