Cheating the TrainsfritzMay 22, 2006

I am traveling in a foreign country, apparently with a few other men, probably my brothers.

Somebody else in the crowded station reminds us to watch our wallets, because the risk of pickpockets is high. I touch my hand to my pocket, and my wallet is still there. I keep touching it to make sure, and it's always there, safe. I try to take it out, to put it in my front pocket, but it is remarkably difficult to extract it from my pocket. I keep checking it periodically with my hand. Later I manage to get it out, and opening it up, realize that all my money and cards are missing. Somebody managed to slip the wallet out, remove everything, and return it without my notice.

We just missed the train. My companions take the rail, but by some flying means which is not permitted. I have no choice but to follow after them. When we get to the next station, a man in a uniform scolds us and assures us that we won't be doing that again.

I'm trying to get my companions' attention at least long enough to tell them about the theft, but they are moving fast away from the train station and the uniforms.
