A Line, A Bike, A Garbage TruckfritzFeb 15, 2012

It seems I'm on a road trip, headed for home. We have two cars, and we're just switching the drivers around. I'm now going to drive my little blue Festiva that I had in the 90's. How fun, like old times! It's a long drive, and I'm concerned about being tired. I think I had a beer earlier. But I prep my space all out with drinks and whatnot.

Next, I end up in Garden Home, in line at a bank or post office. The line is crazy long, dozens of people, hours long. I'm not happy about it; I just want to deposit a couple of checks, why do I have to wait in this stupid line?

After a few minutes in the line, I see an employee in a post-office-like uniform. I complain loudly; how can they make us wait in this line? She argues back, as if it's not their fault and nobody minds. I say that everybody minds and they have some resource allocation issues, and I make my way out of the line. I don't have time for this.

In the back of the same building, I have to pick up my bike after some repairs. It's a large warehouse-type space, and the employee is Evan from Stoneworks, but I'm slow to remember his name. Odd to see him here! Anyway I sign a thing for my bike, and he brings it to load it in my car, which is now a garbage truck.

I think he'll just throw the bike - which is folded down, like a stroller - into the back, which is empty but covered in stinky garbage-slime. That's ok, I can hose it off at home. But he opens the passenger-side door and starts to put it in the front seat, and then throws it over the seats into the back anyway.
