Somebody has brought me to some sort of event, perhaps involving dancing. I think it is my first time, and somebody is showing me the ropes. We have to wear some special footwear, but because my feet are unusual it is a challenge to find some that fit. I end up with a sort of strange pants with feet that severely limit my movement; no, that's not going to work. Nobody else has such restrictions.

Somebody greets me that I have seen before, a guy who is with a girl. Like I always see them at these events, and I should know them by name, but I don't remember. I have to start with "your name was...?" and sort of fake some familiarity.

Then I walk past a cash register, and behind the counter I see a very nice hat, of a kind that I would like to purchase. It seems to be sort of stacked back there, either lost-and-found, or being displayed through a window that is behind the register. I see it just at a glance as I pass, and then I stop and double back, trying to get a look at it again, but I don't see it, and I'm trying not to be obvious about the fact that I am looking at it.
