Cougar and Wandering People | | fritz | Mar 24, 2012 | I'm living in a tiny cabin up on my parents' property. I see a large, jet-black cougar, stalking me. I wonder if it will be able to kill me, or if I'll eventually wrestle it down. I wonder what huge scratches from that cat will feel like. It glares at me, looking for an opportunity to pounce on me.
Fortunately I have some meat, like bacon, so I tear off a strip and throw it to the cougar. He likes it, and becomes more interested in the bacon than me. I keep tearing off strips.
A wandering troupe of people passes by. They are dark-skinned, wanderers, and I think that I am posted there to keep an eye on them. I think they just pass through, and we don't really mind, as long as they don't do any damage. So I walk down the trail to watch them.
The cougar still follows me, and I pull out my camera phone and try to get a picture of it. I get some, but they are blurry, and it's hard to see from the context how big the cougar is, so I'm trying to take some more. | Next: Back Yard Stock |
