Burger King Baby and Talking DogfritzApr 10, 2012

I'm driving in a car, with several people, in the dark. It seems that I'm tired.

We get to a town and stop. It's more like a foreign town than an American one, small but with tall buildings and walking streets. We buy some food from a Burger King and sit down to eat it. I have a child on my lap, with whom I am sharing food. We have a burger, and I recall pulling a couple of cheezy fries out of the container.

The child, who is less than a year old (in real life, too young to be eating burgers), falls asleep, and I take the opportunity to doze off a bit too. I awaken a few minutes later, sort of hiding the fact that I've been asleep, with someone standing over me, getting me up. I ask if the child ate any of the food, as if it had been my responsibility, and they answer not really; he ate some pieces of pickle, a few bites, not much.

We get up to leave, and my dogs are running around. I call out to them, and Sydney comes directly and I attach her leash. I call to Charlie to come, and he bluntly answers "no" in English. I am surprised by his belligerence, though apparently not so much by his voice. I call to him again, and again he answers "no".
