I'm at my uncle's farm, which is apparently adjacent to my parents'. My sister is there, and she shows me her long spidery fingers. I'm jealous of the abilities this gives her on the piano.

It's a nice day, and I take a walk up the fenceline with my dogs. I remember that mom used to have a tiny miniature pinscher - whatever happened to that dog? She must have given it away or something; I haven't thought about it in a long time.

I'm looking for fruit along the fenceline. I'm hoping for plums, finding some apples that aren't quite ripe, but I pick one and it is delicious.

At the top of the hill is a large open field, and I walk out into it before realizing that it is inhabited by three lions and a rather old and decrepit elephant. The lions chase the elephant right toward me, and I think about diving for the fence, but it is all crisscrossed barbed wire, and I don't think I can get through it quickly without damage. So I just crouch near the edge of the field, and the elephant and the lions charge past me, not even noticing me. At the other end of the field they turn around to chase the other way, and I think one of the lions looks directly at me, but they are mostly interested in chasing the elephant.
