Unusual Climb School Place | | fritz | Jun 3, 2012 | It's climb school. We are on a flat grey plateau, looking across to a distant grey cliff, where we were teaching the climbing exercises. I can still see some of the students and instructors on the cliff, but the people I am with are heading across the plateau to some other site for some different exercises.
I think we're having trouble, because this isn't our usual climb school site, finding places for the exercises.
I ask the students how it is going. There is some discussion about learning "delay" and rappel (should be "belay" in the real world, but I don't think I notice the resemblance) on the cliffs above.
Byron (another lead instructor) is there, and I ask him whether there will be a "big rappel" (a 90-foot drop we do in the real climb school) at this location, and he says no, there is no place for it. | Next: Fresh Pea Climbing |
