I said something, and my colleague D. Post misunderstood. He seems to be irritated, and he dumps out a fishbowl on the ground. "No, I said 'toast', I say, 'toast!"

There was a betta in the bowl, which is now squirming in a small pile of water plants on the ground. I scoop it up really quickly and put it back in the bowl, in what little water is left. Then I set the bowl down, but it's oddly shaped, sort of like the bowl that I put the dog treats in but narrower, with several different flat surfaces that it can stand on. I try a couple of different ways to find which way gives the fish the deepest water.
