From Survivor to Holland in One Easy StepfritzJun 25, 2006

I'm returning after being a Survivor contestant, except that I never got to appear on the show. I was apparently chosen as some sort of extra or understudy. I seem to have a specialty of some optical illusion in which I can stretch my body, supported by one arm like a plank, and a person can stand on me. But it's an illusion, and there's a board hidden under my clothes.

We're coming back for the Survivor reunion, and it seems that I am the first contestant who didn't even get to appear. Still, it seems better than being booted off first. And I think perhaps it's best that I didn't get to participate, as my health may not be perfect enough for such an adventure.

I fall asleep during the plane ride, and when I awaken we have landed, and the plane is all but cleared out. I quickly start gathering up my stuff, but it is unmanageable. I think I was also at a trade show, and I have various bits of electronics, like stereos with the covers off. There are at least 15 things, although I am keenly aware that only two pieces of carry-on luggage are allowed. Some of them were packaged before, but the bag tore or something.

While I am still trying to get organized, I feel the plane shaking, and it begins taking off to its next destination. I ask another passenger where it is going, and she says Holland. I immediately go up to the cockpit and ask the pilot if it's too late to turn around. She responds rather sarcastically (while negotiating the runway) "Oh sure, we can just turn the plane around, and land again, just for little 'ol you..." but it's clear that she's not going to.

So I guess I'm going to Holland, which sounds like fun. I'll probably take a breather and spend a few days there. I just wish that I had my laptop so that I could work on my web sites during the flights.
