Amphibious Bus with Mountain ViewsfritzFeb 23, 2013

I'm on a sort of bus, but it's going through the water, which licks up and gets the floor a little wet. Somebody says that it will get a little worse where the water is high, or there are waves, but that it won't get us wet (like the puddle in the restaurant where Matt and I ate last night?).

I think we are going to the airport, leaving this place. But it is like we are driving south, on the west side of Portland, in the industrial area. Everybody is taking pictures of the mountain, and I look up to see a towering rock, like El Capitan or something out at Smith, across the river. It is white with a light snow, and I remark that it is even prettier than the distant Mt. Hood. I get out my camera and start taking pictures.

From where we are, I can see some freight being unloaded, and it looks like it is stuff from India, with distinctive bright colors - a tall statue of a Hindu god, and a wheel like the Aztec calendar. I take a picture of that, remarking that it will seem like the picture was taken in India.

The bus is out on the street now, driving on wheels. It's amphibious. That's pretty cool.
