I'm in some institutional building, white and clinical like a hospital. I think I'm packing to leave. I am tending to some dependent creature, either a dog or baby, and at I leave it locked in an empty room thinking it will be ok for about five hours. I mean, not really any different than being with me in a different room, right? But then somebody convinces me, or I just think of it myself, that it's not really the same, and I can't leave it all alone like that.
