I'm out by my parents', on Bell Road, where it goes down into the gully. For some reason I get going backward, and I'm backing up in the oncoming lane looking for a turnout where I can turn around. Suddenly a car comes over the hill in my lane - I turn quickly, to go onto the shoulder and give him some room to go around, but because I'm going backward I can't quite tell if I turned the right way. Then I turn the car around, but I can't quite tell what happened because I'm looking around every which way.

Somebody is with me, I think my brother Steve, and I ask him how it turned out, and he says that the other car crashed. Really, I ask, was it serious, and he says yeah, he broke the bed off his truck, and may have crashed headon into somebody coming up the hill. It's pretty serious.

At the top of that hill, I park my Subaru on the west side of Leander, on the shoulder. I'm trying to get out of there quickly before somebody holds me accountable for the accident, but I'm going from here on bike and my front tire is really soft, not completely flat, but I should probably pump it up.
