Bad ConcertfritzMay 26, 2013

I'm at a concert. The bands aren't very good, and it's getting late, as I'm getting impatient for the main act to come on. It's supposed to be Led Zeppelin. There are only a few dozen people in this large hall, so I am standing right near the stage.

It's after midnight when this old guy comes on and plays one unfamiliar song. I think it might be Robert Plant but I'm not sure. Then the lights come up and the show is over, which I'm glad of because at that point I just want to go home.

On the way out I angrily tell the people that I will definitely be asking for my money back. I ask them if that was even Robert Plant; they say that it was, but I still want a refund. They say it's not the fault of the venue if the artist doesn't put on a good show, and I feel bad for being angry with them, but I say it wasn't well-organized even besides that - the bands were lame and the delays between bands was too long.

They say it's good that if I want a refund, it's good that I mentioned it, please step over here and have your picture taken. I don't mind that, so I let them snap my picture, and then go back to the line of people leaving the venue. Somebody is handing out these forms, and everybody is filling one out. I think it might be related to getting a refund, so I take a form as it's handed across the crowd, and start filling it out with a heavy black marker.

I make a mistake when filling out my phone number, so I have to scribble it out and write again, but that one doesn't look right either. I put a box around it and fill that in, and try to write it in a margin, but that doesn't work either. I fill half the page with black. I think I should start over, but the form came with a receipt that has a serial number on it, so I think that I have to use that particular form.

"I just can't put my phone number on here," I say, and the rest of the people answer that it's no big deal, just go ahead and put it on there.

"No, I want to put it on there, I just can't," I say. "I keep trying, and messing it up."
