Local Pro FootballfritzJun 25, 2013

I'm going with my friend Stacey to a football game. It's a professional team, but it's the summer off-season, so they're playing a local exhibition game, like at a high school.

We go to the school, but it's the wrong one. It's a drizzly Saturday morning, and they are preparing for a kiddie-league football game. I look up on my phone where the real one is supposed to be, and we prepare to leave, but we're stopped by my dad's tall friend Jim Blake, who is a coach with the kiddie league. He chides us for leaving, in his friendly and enthusiastic way.

But we explain, no, this is different, it's a real team (the Oakland Raiders), and it's such a great opportunity to see them. We go back to our car - I'm riding as passenger - and look up the directions to the other school on my phone. I think it's "Sylvan", and I think I know where it is, but I'm not exactly sure.

We get to the correct school, and gather with a few dozen others in a large yellowish room, where Drew Brees gives us a talk about what to expect from the game. Turns out it will be taking place outside, which I did not expect. It is cold and rainy outside, and I have only a thin black sports jacket.
