Wallet Saved!fritzAug 20, 2013

I'm riding a bike, being pulled behind the Lester Express (my surrey), which has pontoons mounted on it to make it amphibious. I am using retractable dog leashes, which I believe are connected into my belt, like I sometimes do when backpacking with the dogs.

I can see that we are approaching the water, and the Lester Express is going to go in. I'm not prepared to swim, but I can't detach from it while riding, so I quickly pitch my wallet out onto the ground so at least it doesn't get wet. Then we plunge into the water, and I ditch my bike, but they continue downstream, so I detach and go back to get my wallet. The road is very rocky, like scrambling, and as someone comes along I try to explain that I threw my wallet out so that it wouldn't get wet, but I thought they'd just be paddling around nearby, not that they would continue downstream, so now I have to go back and get it. But the words won't come out right, my mouth seems to be disconnected from my brain and I can't articulate.

I am relieved to find my wallet and money (a valuable stack of 20's) in the rocks, along with a pile of small square black-and-white photographs that somebody else must have left there. Some of them are regular pictures of children and relatives, but some of them are pictures of people with four eyes, which seem to be evidence of an alien encounter. I keep those too.

Nobody seems to understand why I would go back for my wallet and money, as if nobody would have taken them. I'm explaining to one of my relatives (it seems I can talk now), who is sitting in a row of chairs, next to a couple of women who are strangers to us. I include them in my explanation, like "say this girl here saw the money, and decided to use it to buy some..." - something expensive. The girl interrupts and says "no, shoes, I said I wanted to buy some shoes!"
