Stranded on Bell RoadfritzJan 1, 2014

I'm with Mark and someone else, he is driving his old Celica, and we're leaving from my parents' house on a long road trip somewhere. But first, we have to go down to Newberg so Mark can pay some hotel bill. I'm not sure why we have to take the time to do that, can't he just pay it online?

I hadn't noticed, but it's flooding. Mark is showing me the puddles in the trees, and then in the road. Just below the hairpin turn, there is a big puddle, and he takes it too fast and the rear of the car spins around, but we're still on the road and it's fun.

We continue down the road, but just below that the road is blocked by a large earth-moving tractor and some road work. We stop and get out. Somebody nearby says it's going to be a long time, they're in the middle of something and the road is all blocked. I think we could find another way around - especially if we don't have to go to Newberg - but Mark seems to have disappeared.

I go to a nearby house, on the uphill side, looking for him. They are having a little party there. I'm asking people if they've seen my friend. The owner of the house is a friendly and pretty little blonde girl (like the lesbian girl with the compound name I met at the club tonight in real life), and when I tell her who I am, she says oh yeah, she knows her neighbors the Schumakers. Oh, I tell her, the Schulers, my sister and husband who in the dream live on that same stretch of road.

The girl and I start talking, and find that we have a lot in common. But, she says, she doesn't believe in regulation. She thinks businesses should be free to do business. I tell her that you can't look at it like that; there isn't just regulation and deregulation, there are a lot of individual rules and regulations that you have to consider, and some of them are good.
