I'm need to find a fish, I think having something to do with medicine for my dogs. I guess I have to get it out of the river. I think I know the spot, but on the way I check a couple of other places, not seeing any fish.

Finally (along with my friend Victor) I come to the place I originally thought I would find fish. It's a wide, shallow bend in the river, with a small town up on the hill where the road passes by.

We wade down there and peer into the river. At first we see the faint shadows of a couple of troutlike fish, but we see more as our eyes become attuned. Then we see different kinds - look, there's a flounder, and two - even three! They're just swimming slowly through the water, looking very easy to catch. We could even get two.

But how do we catch them? We have no fishing gear. It seems with a pole, they would be difficult to catch. With a net, we could scoop them up easily, but isn't that illegal? No, Victor tells me it's just fine.
