I'm checking out of a hotel, about to go on a hike. It seems my departure is unexpected, and first I have to say goodbye to a girl that works there. I stop at the hotel restaurant hoping to see her, and order something from the lunch menu.

I find the girl, whose name I know well, and she looks like Kari from the climbing club, but is for some reason very pretty to me. She is cleaning tables or something around the hotel. She thanks me for coming by, and I tell her there is no other hotel in Vancouver where I would choose to stay. All the interesting internationals are here. I ask her about her personal life, and it seems she's got a serious boyfriend, perhaps even fiancee, which is disappointing to me.
