Cat Aquarium and Stuck on a BoatfritzAug 13, 2006

It is evening at my house. I've been given charge of Virginia and Silas, who are apparently upset, and I try to calm them, hug them and tell them to curl up to sleep on the couch.

As I go to the couch to get some blankets ready for them, I notice that I've left the top off the aquarium, which sits on the opposite side of the room from where it normally is, against the wall near the road. I am surprised to see that two of the cats have jumped in - Vita and an unfamiliar one - and are swimming around in the aquarium. I'm not sure they won't drown, so I watch for a second to see if I should pull them out. But one puts her mouth to the surface, clumsily spluttering along the front of the glass, catches a breath, and continues swimming.

I've got to get my camera and catch this on film - quickly, before they drown, or jump out, or eat the fish. I run to get the camera, but I can't find it. The house is a mess. I go to two or three places I knew I left it, but to no avail. I find a camera, and I think it's the right one, but I try to take a movie and it has no such option among the switches. It's another cheapo camera that I bought at some point, and it's not working. I go back to desperately trying to find my camera. At length I find it, and it is arranged precisely as I had put it with some other electronics (I think a scanner, and perhaps a 2 meter transceiver), but Natasha moved them, over to a wooden computer hutch which now stands in the dining room against the wall to the garage. I rush back to the aquarium.

The cats have jumped out, but the scene is amazing. Suddenly the aquarium is full of exotic, colorful fish. There is even a jellyfish "plant" releasing tiny baby jellies as I watch. I can't believe it, and set about to photograph it, to prove that it happened.

I've apparently forgotten that I was given charge of Virgina and Silas, and when I remember, I'm walking downtown with Dad and Mom, heading for their car so they can go home. Where the kids are left is also downtown near the waterfront, and there are some people there to take care of them, but it seems that we forgot to hand over responsibility. So when we remember, it is decided that I should go back there and make sure everything is ok. Dad and Mom continue to their car.

But I still can't get back there, because I go through a door into a building and end up on a boat. It's very interesting at first, but then I realize my mission and I need to get out. The boat is huge, and from the inside it seems just like a building. I am in a room with two men about my age, and as I step into the hallway, the boat rolls a little bit as though at sea. I go back to the room, which seems to be a control room, and ask one of the men if we are at sea. He starts messing around with controls and maps, and tells me he's not sure.

I'm frustrated and annoyed now. I have to get back to the kids! Now I'm stuck on a boat, and nobody even knows if we're at sea?
