Wet Stuff, and Strange ThieffritzJun 4, 2015

I'm at a sandy beach, with some orange cliffs in the background as I look along the coast. I take off my cap, and put something in it, in the sand, so I can go in the water. I demonstrate something by laying on the beach and letting the waves wash over me. But the waves come in further, and wash away my cap and its contents.

Some time later I find my wet cap, and other stuff, piled near a sign pole on the dry upper part of the beach. I sift through the items, finding more than just what I remembered leaving in my cap, and some things that I shouldn't have allowed to get wet. My GPS is there, I turn it on, and it makes audible static, like a radio. At first I think that means it is fine, but then I notice that it's been taken apart. I open up the case to find that it has been gutted, and the insides replaced with a little electronic device that just makes audible static. What sort of a thief would do something like that?
