Politics at SchoolfritzNov 13, 2015

I'm at a school, like a high school. Hillary Clinton is there for a promotional visit, and as she's seated at a high lab-bench talking to a female student leader, like an interview. the sun shines through the window behind them and I think it would make a really nice picture. I interrupt them really gently to ask Hillary if she would mind if I take a few pictures, saying that if she likes I can share them with her team, and they can use them however they like. She says that's fine.

So I go looking for my camera in the school. I feel like I just saw it somewhere, but I can't remember where. It was on one of these lab-benches which are designed for standing, or perching on a high stool, while doing lab work, where it was plugged in and charging. But which class? I can't remember where any of my classes are, like one of those anxiety dreams, I don't have them written down, and it seems like I just go from class to class every day and just know, but now I'm out of sync and lost. I go into several classrooms to check, but they don't look familiar.

I end up back at my own classroom, or one that I seem to belong in, where I have to teach a class. I give a lecture to the class, but I'm a sub, so I tell them I won't be assigning homework, so they can take the weekend off. They leave, and then I see my camera plugged in on the lab bench.

I grab the camera and go off to find Hillary Clinton again, if she's still here, though I suspect the scene that would have made such a good picture has now passed. I find her coming out of a door to the outside of the building, along a stone walkway. I hold up the camera, as if to show it to her like "see, I found it", and she smiles politely but continues on her way.

Then it becomes a commercial. The scene pans slowly along the pale stone walkway, emphasizing its size and expanse, and then the stone begins to explode outward, as if pierced by a huge wall of water, like the wall in the Pink Floyd movie. The message is that this is what a vote for Bernie Sanders is doing to the Democratic Party.

(I'm not even a Democrat, and not particularly concerned with Hillary Clinton, though I do support Bernie Sanders.)
