I"m along a road in the dark, and both my dogs and my cat are along the side of the road with me. A pickup truck is coming towards us, and I wave at him to be careful. He drives right along the line on the side on the side of the road, but then a little bit on the shoulder, where he hits my cat Muezza and she rolls off to the side of the road.

My first thought is that he is a terrible driver; he should have kept his wheels on the road. But then I think, you know, it's hard to tell, a lot of people couldn't get that exactly right. He's stopped now in the road, and as I pass around the driver's side of his truck, I knock on his window and tell him in passing that he killed my cat. But when I get to Muezza she is still alive and aware, but bleeding profusely from somewhere around her legs. I'm not sure what to do.

(My cat Muezza is in hospice care but doing well; this is rather reflective of my mom's dog being hit by an oncoming truck a few days ago)
