We're having dinner on the patio outside the redroom at my parents'. I walk along the porch toward the holly tree, and looking back toward the patio I see a dead bird, a large yellowish brown one with black flecks, kind of like a flicker, on the porch.

I summon dad, and he tries to pick it up, but it awakens and starts biting him. Seems it might be rabid.
