Math ChallengefritzNov 5, 2016

I'm in a gathering in a park. Somebody not present, like a radio announcer - has given us a mental or math challenge, something to do with positions of planets*. I can't figure it out. It seems I even talk to the leader - he communicates with me through the air, and I tell him I can't even get started, it seems like we need more information.

I walk up the hill to where Steve's old friends Chris P and Tim N are sitting on the grass, busily working on some project. I ask them if they figured it out, and they say oh yeah, it was easy. They show me their solution, showing two planets and a big curved line connecting them, with a bunch of math and symbols here and there. I can't make any sense of it whatsoever, but they go back to what they were doing.

I ask if they heard the explanation, which was supposed to be broadcast, but they had forgotten. They turn it on, but the announcer already went past the part of explaining the answer.

(* Steve told me about such a challenge he was given when applying for a job at Google, asking how large is the moon)
