I'm just arriving at Disneyland, paying at the kiosk. It looks like a stormy day and out-of-season, so there are no crowds. As I pay, they give me a pile of papers, like coupons and things, but I just pile all of them together, in a hurry and figuring I'll sort them out later.

I walk up to the top of this hill and look out over the park. Apparently my stepdaughter Alona was going to join me, and I texted her to ask her, but haven't heard back from her and I'm not sure if she will come. No matter, I will enjoy it by myself anyway.

I pull out a map of the park from among the papers that they gave me and plan my route. All the rides on the map are marked "HK2" and so forth, which seems to correspond to four "hikes" around the park, but the rides are only assigned to one hike, so if you did all four hikes, you'd pass by a lot of rides but you'd eventually hit them all. I don't think that sounds like a good way to do it; I'll just hit all the rides that I want to hit in a certain area while I'm there.

I also notice "no smoking" signs everywhere. I guess smoking isn't allowed anywhere in Disneyland any more. Seems obvious once I think about it.
