Semi-Truck Parking | | fritz | Nov 18, 2005 | Natasha and I are in a semi-truck with Dave, who is driving. We stop somewhere and he parks the truck into a straight-on parking space, where he gets out and goes on some errand. We wait in the truck, and soon realize that it drifts slowly backward out of the parking spot, and needs to be pulled back into the space. I take the wheel and pull it back in. It drifts again, and at least twice I pull it back in.
The third time, Natasha wants to try it, and we agree it should not be too difficult for her, as it is simply pulling straight forward into the space. She tries it. There is a Ford Pinto in front of us, and she doesn't stop in time. She hits in the rear, and I fear it will explode (as they are famous for doing). But it doesn't, it just rolls over and we stop, and get out to survey the damage, waiting for Dave to return and resolve the situation. | Next: Pigeon Launching and Car Spinning |
