Sale on Magnifying Glasses, and Old CoinsfritzMar 21, 2017

I'm in what appears to be a very large video game parlor. My friend is playing a driving game that looks pretty fun, and in the expansive room are many more such games that look are shaped like cars. They're all empty; I think I should try to drive one.

But I don't; instead I get drawn into some sales of cheap used merchandise, especially some magnifying glasses. I can't decide which ones to buy - I obviously need some for work and some for home, and they are different sizes and bargain prices. In the end I buy all of them - I think two large ones and two small ones - except this strange square one that doesn't seem very useful.

I take them up to the register, but I'm carrying all these other packages and the merchandise I want to buy, the magnifying glasses and something else, have become mixed up with other items. I start pulling out the purchases - yes I'm buying this, no I bought that somewhere else. The checker is friendly and seems amused by the chaos, trusting me as I spread items around on the desk and the floor.

In the end my purchases only add up to a couple dollars, so with a laugh I pull out a pocketful of change I just happened to get from somewhere, and count it out. The coins are unusual, strange sizes and shapes, and only as I'm handing them to her I give them a closer look and realize they are very old, some from the 1800's. I'd like to have some of them for my collection and wish I'd held back on them sooner, so I offer to buy some of them back with dollar bills.

(I've been using magnifying glasses a lot lately, to look at my baseball cards and at work, since my vision is deteriorating. I had a lighted one at work that has been missing, and I noticed it just that day at someone else's desk, so considered whether I should try to take it back, or just order some more from somewhere, probably the latter.)
