Finding My Travel Things | | fritz | Aug 4, 2017 | I'm leaving somewhere I have been traveling, to return home. I'm looking for this open-topped box that is missing, containing some jars or bottles of miscellany. I am looking through this house, and continuing on to higher floors as I look. I get to the top floor, where a wide stairway in a large sky-lit multifloor room leads up to a platform, where there is nothing.
One of the members of the household notices me there and calls up from below that there's nothing up there, what am I looking for? I tell her about the box, and she tries to help me find it. But she keeps leading me into rooms that aren't the right one; I'm sure I left it one of the bedrooms on a certain side of the house. I brought it in and set it on the bed, I remember. The rooms on that side are all arranged the same, and I explain the arrangement. It seems like somebody had thrown a bunch of other clothes and things on the bed, and then probably cleaned it up, taking my box with it. I don't recall that we ever found it.
Later I'm at the airport, by a large pile of luggage that apparently belongs to me and my traveling companions. Among the luggage is my day-bag that I usually carry on airplanes, and I'm surprised to see it because I thought I'd left it a while back in a bus stop or something, and had been considering what to do about all the items lost with it.
