Eclipse and ChurchfritzAug 21, 2017

I'm going to see the eclipse (*), with my dad and some other people, in my truck, the 'Mountain Limo'. We come to an intersection that feels like turning left, North, onto Macadam Avenue in SW Portland. I can't make the turn into the street because I can't see the traffic, there are too many obstructions. But then I realize this is because I'm in the back seat, and dad is driving.

We continue on, decending this circular ramp with very fancy carved marble rails. I'm susprised that dad can maneuver the truck through the corners so well, close enough that I can reach out and touch the rails, and run my hands across the pillars. It's very fancy decor, and we end up seated in a large church auditorium, in ancient historical style. We don't want to be stuck in this church and miss the eclipse! Somebody tells us that we can't leave in the middle, but I say oh yes we can, and just get up and leave.

(* There is actually a full solar eclipse today)
