A Strange PlayfritzNov 30, 2017

I'm at some sort of a play, in a small dark room with black wooden walls and no apparent decorations. We, the audience, are standing along one wall, and there isn't really a stage, just an open floor, in dim light.

Vera is an actress in the play, the begins it by crawling across the floor, talking continuously in some soliloquy that introduces the plot. As she does this, I notice that she's reaching around the back and taking off her undergarment, like a bra, from underneath her shirt, as though it is bothering her, or uncomfortable. I admire how she can do this as she continues talking, so nobody could notice. Then she does the same with a second undergarment, like she had also a singlet or something that was also bothering her. She manages to hide all this, so nothing would be noticed by the audience.

She was crawling away from us to the right, and then she turns toward us to crawl across to the left, and it's apparent that her top has fallen down, accidentally exposing her breasts. She doesn't break character, and continues her speech as she makes her way into a dark corner off to my left.

The second character in the play is my mother, and she appears, laying on her back on the floor in front of us, talking up toward the ceiling. She provides cover for Vera, distracting the audience to give her a chance to get something on. She starts talking and deviates from her script, filling the space to give Vera more time. She's ad-libbing, and not making much sense. Then she includes me in the coversation - I'm now a step or two in front of most of the audience, as though on the corner closest to the stage, and my mom. Now I have to ad-lib too, to make up some stuff to add to the conversation to continue to distract the audience and cover for my girlfriend.
