I'm going for a hike up near the farm, just at the top of the big hill on Bell Road, by "Jimmie Libel's" place. At first I'm carrying Vera in a piggy-back ride, going up the hill along the road, but I get on the wrong side of the fence and I have to go around. I'm getting tired, so I have to set Vera down.

Then we get to our actual hike, which is at the top of that hill, on an (imaginary) forested ridge that heads out to the north. Mom and Rimli join us, and we start walking along the trail. I'm pointing out different geographic features to Vera, as we can see from this vantage point.

We come across some berries along the trail, little ones like blueberries and some bigger ones like plums, but the same color. We pick and eat some, and then I see the best ones and ask somebody to pick one and hand it to me. These ones are also dark black-purple, but they come in a natural little black drawstring bag. Somebody hands me one, and I pull the berries out of the bag and share them with Vera.
