Nuclear Social BreakdownfritzApr 4, 2018

Vera and I are walking outside in the dark, and we notice a large number of shooting stars - they seem to be dropping all over the place. There are many more than you'd ever see, multiple ones at the same time, all over the sky. I say that there must be something wrong, with all this debris falling on the planet.

My brother Steve is walking with us, a little ahead or behind, and he looks it up on his phone, informing us that a nuclear war has started.

Society completely breaks down, and people are just going around with guns, shooting each other, and dressed in strange costumes. You don't know who will shoot at you. Vera provides us with a couple of large automatic weapons, which we try out, and they have unusual triggers, like one inside the other, where you have to pull both.

This huge girl - or maybe a guy dressed like a girl, in a dirty blue jumpsuit, like some horror-movie zombie - comes into the cabin where we are. At first she seems friendly, but then it's apparent that she is trying to kill us. "Shoot her!" yells Vera, and I turn one of the guns on her, but when I pull the trigger, it makes firing noises but no bullets come out. "Both triggers!" she says, and I pull further, and the girl falls to the floor.

Somehow I get separated from Vera, or maybe she gets killed but I don't remember, except that everybody is getting killed. I am running around by myself, with one of the guns, the kind with a big circular magazine. I don't want to shoot anyone, but I have no choice if people are shooting at me.

I'm sitting against a wall, where I don't think anyone will see me, but then this sort of gang approaches, led by a very scraggly Ulysses Klaue from the movie Black Panther, looking like a very weathered and battered seaman. They shoot at me, and I dodge the bullets, but then the leader remarks to one of his henchmen, "I don't think he's even felt it yet", and I look down, and see a bullet hole right through my chest, in the area of my heart. But I don't feel it, and it doesn't seem to bother me very much, as I escape from them.

Then the scene stops, and it turns out to be a movie. I'm at a camp, with a bunch of cabins in the woods, two rooms of which are separately rented by Vera and myself. They were showing the movie as an evening activity, but they decided to stop it before it is finished. I leave, still in shock from the drama (like waking up from a dream), and wander around toward my room. I believe Vera is already asleep, but I wonder why she had to book us two separate rooms.
