Sydney jumps down from somewhere and breaks her front foot. I can see that the bone is completely broken, and last segment of leg and the paw dangle by the skin. I say we're going to need to bandage her up and take her to the hospital. Then she's bleeding profusely from the wound, the last part of the leg is broken completely off, and I kick into high gear - "somebody find some duct tape", I say, "and find the emergency vet", as I take off my sweatshirt and wrap it around her leg for a bandage.

The last part of the leg is around somewhere on the floor - I think, the floor of my garage - and I think whether we should gather it up to be reattached, but I doubt we would want to do that; she's pretty old anyway and three legs is probably enough.
