I have to take this long bike ride, up the gorge, for some festival where I have to pick up something. I think I know the way, but I have to stop sometimes to check my GPS, which is difficult on the bike. In all, it's very grueling, and I wouldn't do it again.

But my work arranges for three of us (Dave J, Tim B, and myself) to ride up there to pick up something. But then Dave says, "if you guys are going, there's no need for me to go", and I think he's right - why are two of us going on this difficult journey anyway? And it takes four hours each way - why don't we just drive, you could be there and back in two hours.
