And Then It RainsfritzJun 9, 2018

I'm walking up the sidewalk in front of where Payless used to be in Newberg, in Springbrook. I'm thinking of writing an angry metal song, as I sometimes think, about something silly, in this case about getting rained on. It goes 'bla bla, you're in some situation... and then it f***ing rains!'. Haha, that would be a good song.

I walk past the store and into the next one up the hill, which used to be Thriftway. The two stores are connected, such that you can walk easily between them, though clearly the tone is completely different in the two stores; one is like a grocery store, the other like a fancy department store. In the department store, about 10 employees are all banging on some metal racks and other furniture with stuff like hangers or other things that were laying around, making a really impressive improvised rhythmic song. I groove to it a bit, and then wonder how they could be so bored as to develop such a thing. There don't seem to be any customers in the store. All they sell is sheets, in a million colors and shades, all in the same sort of display on these pillars all over the stores.
