That's a MorayfritzJun 27, 2019

I'm doing some maintenance on my fish tank, which is sitting on a low table in what appears like my parents' hallway. It sits behind the door, where normally is a buffet.

I notice that the tank, which is long and narrow, is sitting rather precariously, and crookedly, almost falling off the table. I try to scoot it to a safer position, but in doing so, knock it off onto the floor, and it log-rolls two or three times over before settling upright in the hallway.

Some of the fish have spilled out, and are swimming in the hallway, which for some reason is an active river about a foot deep. I quickly grab my fish net and start dipping the aquarium fish out of the river and putting them back in the tank. I get all the neon tetras, and then a couple of small strange-looking, sort of ugly fish with whiskers on their faces, which I don't think came from my tank, but I leave them there and welcome them to their new home, though I'm aware that the water shock is probably not good for them, I think they can take it.

Then there are a couple of large eels, several feet long and at least 10 inches in diameter, that come up and rest against the tank as if hoping they can have a home there too. I could catch them easily, but they are too big for the tank. I start thinking of the joke song to the tune of "That's Amore", but it's about eels, and the punchline is "That's a Moray".
