Robbed at Salem Mitt StorefritzAug 20, 2020

I'm on a road trip across Oregon, through small towns and unknown roads. I find myself in a strip-mall that looks familiar in character, like a suburb of Salem. I stop in a parking lot and check the map on my phone; indeed, the center of Salem is just to the east.

There's an interesting-looking surplus store nearby, so I go in to check it out. It is huge and crowded, and full of strange items. I'm pushing a cart - not a normal shopping cart, a low, flat cart like at Home Depot or Ikea - with a number of boxes of valuable items, like gems or something. I'm not sure where they came from, but not this store, they already belong to me. I'm trying to get through the crowd to the door to get out with my stuff.

I get to the door, which is on the back of the store and up on a partial second floor, and most of my stuff is gone. I know who stole it, I saw him, it's Gus from Breaking Bad. I go looking for him; I know he's tall, so I should be able to spot him in the crowd. This partial second floor forms a balcony from where I can see the entire floor below, and maybe I can spot the thief.

As I cross the upper floor I see a crowd of men dressed in fatigues, as if in a line waiting for some limited-release product. I wonder what it is they are there for, when I meet one of them in the aisle who already got his. It's a giant baseball mitt, like some sort of joke, it is in every way like a regular mitt but full-body-sized, like 5 feet across.
