Ford to the Mall for PickpocketsfritzDec 3, 2006

It's my last day of vacation somewhere. Steve and I are going to go to some sort of boat rides, but we decide not to.

We drive (probably in the Waka) toward somewhere, but the road is all washed out and there are rivers running through it. The water looks too deep to wade, and some other drivers tell us it's impossible to pass. We get out of the truck, and Steve gets in the water. He says it's not as deep as it looks, and jumps in. Where it looked deeper than his head, it's only up to his waist. I start back to a place where it looked much less deep, and it should be even shallower than the illusion suggests, but then I fall in the water and get pretty wet anyway.

We end up at some sort of mall. Passing through a crowd of people, I have the distictive feeling of my watch (usually on the wrist, but not at the moment) being pulled from my pocket. I quickly grab someone's wrist, and wrestle him to the ground, though he doesn't fight back. I start yelling "somebody call security", and reaching into his pocket, find several unattached watch bands, mine not among them, but I think it's pretty damning evidence. The perp seems nice and is proclaiming his innocence while not fighting back, but a big black security guard shows up and I tell him I've caught a thief, just check his pockets.
